Whats a good place to find streaming music online while at work?

music online
Mike G asked:

My work has a firewall that blocks many websites, including shoutcast, yahoo launch, rhapsody, and most of the “major” online distributors. I’ve found that direct links that can be loaded in winamp usually work (like from the local radio station, www.radiostation.com/listen.pls). I’m looking for ROCK music only please.

www.woxy.com works perfectly, except the music *****. Is there a website that lists direct streams? Or does anybody know of any?

And yes I googled/ask.com/chacha/yahoo searched for a long time, and found few that worked, and those that do are usually very weird or some unpopular style. THANKS!

Kolton

Dude you should try you basically make your own custom radio stations there. The benefits this has over normal online radio stations are that you add bands and songs that you like to the station and then it will play music similar to those bands and songs then you can give each song a thumbs up or thumbs down to fine tune the music that it plays until you’re only hearings songs that you like. Also you can skip songs and pause and you don’t have to listen to any commercials. It’s pretty sweet and you can have up to 100 custom stations. I suppose it might be a pain if you don’t want to have any control over the kind of music you listen to and you like listening to commercials but I leave that decision up to you.
